DESCRIPTION:2nd annual Santa Sprint & Reindeer Run benefiting the Texarkana Museums System will take place at 9 a.m. on December 12\, 2015. The race will begin and end at the historic Ace of Clubs house in Downtown Texarkana. \nHow the Santa Sprint 5k works:\nEnter your family\, a group of your friends\, or just yourself as a ‘Santa’ for the 5k race. Comfortable Santa Claus type clothing is encouraged and will add to the fun race atmosphere. Participants are not required to run and may choose to walk/run\, power walk\, or simply walk. As you register and socialize\, you will see the beautiful seasonal decorations at the Ace of Clubs House which were done by local philanthropic organizations and decorators. The decor will be provided by Pi Beta Phi\, Gamma Sigma Gamma\, P.E.O Chapter V\, William Wilson and Brent Stewart. \nRace begins & ends at the historic Ace of Clubs house.\nAdding to the spirited pre-Christmas event will be the Reindeer Run. A judged portion of the festivities\, the Reindeer Run allows pet owners to enter pets wearing their best doggie Christmas attire. Reindeer ‘looks’ are encouraged for this event. There will be 8 themed ‘reindeer’ (dog) categories including best dressed\, best trick\, fastest and cutest. All categories are named after one of the familiar 8 reindeer mentioned in the classic\, “A Visit From St. Nicholas” by Clement Clark Moore. (Also known as “Twas The Night Before Christmas.”) Every dog entered in the contest will be automatically eligible for the very special Rudolph award\, which acts as a Best of Show prize.

DESCRIPTION:This years event will be held Saturday\, December 12th at 9:00 a.m. at Liberty Eylau middle school. There are no entry fees charged\, anyone is invited to attend. However\, this event is to raise money for our charities so donations are asked for at the door. \nThey will accept cash donations or items such as: dog food\, cat food\, cat litter\, pine chips\, blankets\, bowls\, toys\, treats\, collars\, leashes\, puppy pads etc. The event will start with a silent auction\, put on by our branson showcase cloggers\, of over 100 items donated by generous local businesses and individuals. The auction will remain open prior to the show and reopen during intermission. Santa will be there for photo ops along with plenty of visiting furry friends that are currently adoptable or rehabilitating rescues. To assist in the overall donation\, a snack concession will be available as well at 10:00 a.m. \n

Arkansas High School’s drill team\, the Red Line\, will also perform\, along with the Line Stompers drum line from the Faith\, Hope and Love Youth Corporation. \nThe show features dance styles ranging from pointe ballet to hip-hop. Tickets cost $10\, and not only do attendees get to enjoy a wide-ranging showcase of dance styles\, but according to company owner Holland Gerrald\, the money will help families dealing with the difficulties of having a very ill child.

We are making great progress with this first year fund-raiser with the help of our incredible sponsors and the Marine Reserve Unit Service personnel and local volunteers. \nIf you are a sponsor you will receive one Toys for Tots bottle of wine plus 5 raffle tickets for additional bottles and a case of Toys for Tots wine\, food\, music\, fellowship and fun. \nIf you bring guests or are not a sponsor\, admission is $20 for a bottle of Toys for Tots wine and 5 raffle tickets. If a couple $25 for a bottle of Toys for Tots wine and 10 raffle tickets.
