DESCRIPTION:The monthly Texarkana\, Arkansas\, recycling event\, Green Texarkana\, will be held Saturday\, Nov. 14th\,  from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E. 3rd and Hazel streets. \nGreen Texarkana is a single-stream recycling drive collecting paper\, cardboard and plastics\, as well as electronics including computers\, printers and TVs. \nAlso accepted are tin cans\, aluminum\, ink cartridges and plastic film like shopping bags. Those items should be sorted out separately because they go to different processors. \nSeveral other activities will also be taking place downtown at this time\, including a parade. Residents wishing to recycle are encouraged to come early in the morning or after 11:30 a.m.\, to hopefully avoid the heaviest traffic. Please watch for traffic\, pedestrians and barricades. Parking will not be allowed in the northern end of the parking lot where the recycling event is held. \nThis event is not for recycling glass\, Styrofoam\, tires\, furniture or hazardous materials including CFLs (fluorescent lights).
