Lexie Rose and Hunter Rose are probably the only brother sister BMX racing team in the Texarkana area.
According to 14 year old Lexi herself and 8 year old brother have been BMX racing since July of 2013. “We started out just doing little races,” Said Lexi. “We loved it so much, we started going to more and more races, and the next thing we knew, we were going to nationals trying to win every race.”
“We have no track near us, and the closest one is an hour and fifteen minutes away. We travel wherever the next national we can afford to go to is, and we would greatly appreciate some sponsors,” said Lexi
Their team is called Poppa Willie, Hunter competes in the class is 8 Intermediate while Lexi is in the 14 girl class.
Lexi and Hunter are currently in Las Vegas competing in the Silver Dollar Nationals and will be traveling to Tulsa January 23.
“Our main goal is to hopefully get a track here in Texarkana so that other kids can enjoy racing as much as we do,” said Lexi. “We would greatly appreciate any help that is offered to us. We hope to continue racing for a long time.”
