Adra Hallford, Grant Writer at the CIty of Texarkana, Texas, represents the Texarkana Brownfields Regional Environmental Coalition. This group is comprised of Texarkana Texas, Texarkana Arkansas, and the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, and works together to analyze redevelopment opportunities, environmental assessment and cleanups that are necessary for properties.

She walks with Delbert Doughty, Texas A&M-Texarkana Dean of College of Arts, Sciences Education, to discuss possible internships from their students to assist with redeveloping downtown and other areas of Texarkana.

“We just met, this is our first day doing a tour Downtown so he can familiarize himself with some of the incredible resources and challenges we have here,” explained Halford.

They commenced walking at Texarkana, Texas CIty Hall and made their way down Broad Street discussing the history of the buildings and the process of converting them into usable space.
