Man killed in stabbing at the Salvation Army

A man stabbed at the Salvation Army has died from his injuries according to Texarkana, Ark. Police.

According to police the victim was 33-year-old Joshua Sines.

At approximately 5:30pm Saturday, Texarkana Arkansas Police were called to the Salvation Army at 316 Hazel St. in response to a stabbing.

While investigating the call, officers learned that a male, who was reported by witnesses to have just stabbed another man in the chest, had left the scene walking north. Another witness followed the suspect from the scene and reported that the man was walking north on N. State Line Ave. and had crossed into Texarkana, Texas.

TAPD responded and located Billy Joe Mitchell, 43 years of age, walking north. With the assistance of Texarkana, Texas Police, Mitchell was taken into custody after evidence was found that linked Mitchell to the crime.

Lifenet paramedics and TAPD officers rendered aid to the stabbing victim who was transported to Wadley Hospital, where he later died of his injury.
