TEXARKANA, Texas — Residents seeking answers about recent water bills or curious about the future of the city’s water infrastructure will have a chance to speak directly with officials later this month.
The City of Texarkana, Texas, in partnership with Texarkana Water Utilities (TWU) and Riverbend Water Resources, has announced a “Community Water Forum: Let’s Talk Water.” The event is designed to provide transparency regarding current services and long-term utility plans.
The forum is scheduled for Monday, January 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.
No formal presentation is planned. Instead, the event will utilize an open-house format, encouraging residents to stop by at any time during the two-hour window to engage in one-on-one conversations with staff.
Topics on the Table The forum aims to address a variety of concerns ranging from immediate billing questions to regional construction projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss:
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI): How the new metering program is intended to improve billing accuracy, reduce water loss, and give customers better access to usage data.
- Billing Assistance: A “TWU Help Desk” will be staffed by customer service representatives to provide individualized assistance with specific account issues and recent bill inquiries.
- Infrastructure & Inventory: Updates on upcoming sewer and water projects, as well as the current inventory being conducted on materials used in customer service lines.
- Riverbend Regional Project: An overview of the new regional water treatment infrastructure and its projected long-term benefits for the area.
City officials encourage any resident with questions regarding their service, recent meter upgrades, or the broader Riverbend Regional Water Infrastructure Program to attend.
