Legacy Heart Walk Announces Community Health Expo & Family Field Day on May 23

Texarkana, AR — Legacy Heart Walk will host its inaugural Community Health Expo & Family Field Day on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at We Are Washington, located at 1900 Marietta St., Texarkana, Arkansas. This free, family-centered event is designed to empower youth, adults, and families with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to build healthier futures.

Born from a personal mission to address the impact of cardiovascular disease within local families, Legacy Heart Walk has grown into a community movement focused on prevention, education, and long-term wellness. The upcoming expo represents the organization’s first major public event and aims to unite residents, nonprofits, and health-focused partners in a shared effort to promote healthier living.

Event Highlights

  • Free health screenings
  • Youth classroom sessions on health, dental care, and wellness
  • Adult workshops including nutrition, prevention, CPR demonstrations, and community health discussions
  • Interactive Field Day activities for all ages
  • Vendor fair, door prizes, raffles, and wellness resources
  • Line dancing, warm-ups, and fitness engagement
  • LifeShare Blood Drive on-site

The event schedule includes structured youth rotations, adult learning sessions, and a full outdoor field day experience beginning at 11:45 AM. Volunteers, sponsors, and community partners will play a key role in delivering hands-on activities, educational sessions, and family engagement opportunities throughout the day.

A Mission Rooted in Prevention

“Our mission for this event is to build a legacy of health by equipping youth and families with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to prevent disease, embrace wellness, and transform the future of our communities,” said Tia Williams, Founder of Legacy Heart Walk. “This is more than a one-day event—it’s the beginning of a long-term commitment to community wellness.”

Call for Volunteers & Community Partners

Local nonprofits, health organizations, and businesses are invited to participate, host booths, or volunteer. The event seeks to create a collaborative environment where families can connect with trusted resources and take meaningful steps toward healthier living.
