Texarkana College Ranks #1 in Texas for Student Completion Rates
Texarkana College has earned the top ranking in Texas for three-year student completion rates, according to recent data from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The college achieved a 61.8% three-year completion rate, nearly double the state average of 31.3%. The institution also ranked among the top in four-year and six-year completion measures.
The Texarkana College Board of Trustees received the report during their meeting Monday. The college has maintained its position among the top-performing community colleges in Texas for more than a decade, including multiple years at the number one spot in key completion categories.
“This recognition reflects the incredible dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Jason Smith, President of Texarkana College. “We are extremely proud of the commitment across our campus to student success and completion. Every day, our team works to ensure students are supported, encouraged, and equipped to achieve their educational goals and fulfill their dreams.”
The college’s completion rates align with the state’s 60x30TX plan, which aims for 60% of Texans ages 25 to 34 to earn a college degree or credential by 2030.
During the same meeting, trustees received an update on the upcoming Texarkana Airshow, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Texarkana Regional Airport. Dani Hamblett of For All Brand Kind presented details about the event’s marketing strategy and community engagement efforts.
Brandon Sanders, Texarkana College’s Director of Aviation, developed the concept for the airshow, which will feature aerial performances, military demonstrations, live music, a runway 5K, barbecue competition, and a twilight show by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team.
