TEXARKANA, Texas–A local man who was sent to federal prison in 2014 after offering money online to boys for sex has been charged in the same court for allegedly violating registration requirements for convicted sex offenders.

Demonta Kevonta Eskew, 34, was sentenced in April 2014 to 11 years and three months in federal prison for enticement of a minor. At the time, Eskew had been using internet social media sites and text messaging to proposition boys into sexual activity in exchange for money or marijuana.

The mother of a 16-year-old boy reported Eskew to authorities after finding questionable exchanges between her son and Eskew on a messenger application, according to court records.

Eskew is now accused of failing to check in routinely with local law enforcement, as his designation as a sex offender requires. Sex offenders are also required to report any change in their living or working situations when those occur.

Eskew allegedly failed to register beginning this January and up until May 4, according to an indictment charging him in the Texarkana Division of the Eastern District of Texas.

Eskew has not yet appeared in court for arraignment on the new charge. His indictment was filed last week.

If convicted, Eskew faces up to 10 years in federal prison, a fine up to $250,000, or both.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Robert Schroeder III and referred to U.S. Magistrate Judge James Boone Baxter.

An attorney of record was not listed Wednesday for Eskew. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren Richards is representing the government.
