US Marshals Arrest Texarkana Fugitive On 38 Weapons Counts After Yearlong Manhunt

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Terrance Blair, 62, in a wooded area near Lewisville, Arkansas, on 35 weapons counts and failure to register as a sex offender after a nearly yearlong search.

LEWISVILLE, Ark. — The U.S. Marshals Service Western District of Arkansas Fugitive Task Force arrested Terrance Blair, 62, of Texarkana, Arkansas, on Thursday after a nearly yearlong manhunt, authorities said.

Blair was wanted by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department on 35 counts of possession of firearms by certain persons, three counts of criminal use of prohibited weapons including bombs and machine guns and failure to register as a sex offender.

The investigation ended Thursday when TAPD, Arkansas State Police and U.S. Marshals took Blair into custody in a wooded area just north of Lewisville, Arkansas, according to a U.S. Marshals Service statement.

The U.S. Marshals task force model combines federal, state and local law enforcement to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives. In 2024, the Marshals arrested 74,222 fugitives and cleared 88,765 warrants — averaging 297 fugitives arrested per day.
