Texarkana Police Recover Stolen Harvest Food Bank Truck In Dallas Using License Plate Readers
TEXARKANA, Ark. — Two men are in custody in Dallas and a third remains at large after authorities recovered a box truck stolen from Harvest Regional Food Bank and thousands of dollars in merchandise taken from a Texarkana fireworks stand, according to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.
Officers responded about 7 a.m. July 2 to a report that a box truck belonging to the food bank had been stolen. Soon after, investigators began looking into a burglary at Stateline Fireworks, where suspects forced their way in and took merchandise.
The department’s Criminal Investigation Division connected the two cases and worked with regional agencies to track the suspects. The truck and fireworks were recovered in Dallas after a joint operation involving TAPD, the Texarkana Texas Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Dallas SWAT.
Two suspects — Raynard Hunt, 44, and Claude McQueen III, 36 — were arrested in Dallas and are being held there. A third suspect, Quinton Haywood, 34, has not been taken into custody after fleeing from officers, police said.
All three have active felony warrants from TAPD charging two counts of theft of property over $25,000, commercial burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of engaging in a continuing criminal gang organization.
Harvest Regional Food Bank expressed gratitude to law enforcement for the speedy recovery of its delivery truck, which the organization said is essential to its mission of delivering food to families in need across southwest Arkansas and northeast Texas.
“Without our vehicles, Harvest Regional Food Bank cannot carry out our mission of bringing food to hungry families,” the organization said. “Thank you to each officer involved for helping us get back on the road and continue providing access to healthy food for those who need it most.”
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Haywood is asked to contact the TAPD Criminal Investigation Division at 903-798-3154.
