Eileen Vonda Hall Miller

October 9, 1951 – August 6, 2026

Eileen Vonda Hall Miller, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas, where she spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and the community she loved.

Eileen personified devotion. She was devoted to her studies at Liberty-Eylau, graduating as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1970. She was devoted to her work, retiring after over 30 years with Truman Arnold Companies. She was devoted to her husband, Allen Lawson Miller, to whom she was married for over 37 years before his death in 2014. She was devoted to her churches, growing up and then raising her own kids at Rose Hill Christian Church, and for the past two decades as a dedicated member of Eylau Christian Church. She was devoted to her community in Liberty Eylau, volunteering in innumerable ways throughout her life for various civic clubs, school sports teams, band boosters (serving as president for many years), and many others.

But most of all, she was devoted to her sons and grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. As “Mom” to Jordan and Josh, she centered her life on their happiness and success. As in every other aspect of her life, she succeeded. No cancer diagnosis or other setback would deter her from raising her boys in a Christian home where faith, hard work, integrity, and devotion to family were her daily example. She never missed a practice, a game, a performance, anything. She sweated through long summers at the ballpark/fields and hotter vacations at Texas Rangers games, Six Flags, Disney World, Branson, MO and Lake Taneycomo, or any other exciting adventure or occasion with which she could spoil her boys. Every sleepover with friends was made special. Every single birthday and holiday were memorable. As “Grammy” to Ava, Kate, Lawson, and Bennett, she continued that tradition, taking every opportunity to shower them with love and affection and spending cherished time with them as frequently as possible. Her love for her family was the foundation of her life, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to them as well as to her many friends.

Eileen was born on October 9, 1951, in Texarkana, to parents Albertis “Bert” and Pearlie Hall, who both welcomed her to Heaven, where the hope of eternal life free of pain and worry is now a reality. She is survived by her sister Margarette (Glenn) Strawn of Wake Village, Texas, her twin sister Aileen Dossey of Texarkana, Texas, her brother John (Pam) Hall of Texarkana, Texas, her sister-in-law Cherie Miller of Wichita Falls, Texas, her Aunt Dolores Good and Uncle John “Mose” Good of Bossier City, Louisiana, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 2:00-3:00p.m. at Chapelwood Funeral Home, 1015 N. Kings Highway, Nash, Texas 75569. Funeral services will immediately follow on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., Brother Roy Freeman officiating. Private burial will be in Eylau Community Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Eylau Christian Church Building Fund or Eylau Community Cemetery Fund, 4903 Eylau Loop Road, Texarkana, Texas 75501, or to the American Cancer Society.
