La Verne Ward, age 95 of Texarkana Texas passed away on August 12, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1931 in Fordyce, Arkansas to Blanche and William Morgan.

La Verne Ward, age 95 of Texarkana Texas passed away on August 12, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1931 in Fordyce, Arkansas to Blanche and William Morgan.
She spent her working days as an administrative assistant in Dallas in the Oil and Gas field and later in the defense field at The Shumaker Naval Ammunition Depot in Camden, Arkansas. Later in 1953, she married William and became a homemaker.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. La Verne was so proud of her great-grandchildren, and loved to have them come visit her. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and tending to her plants and flowers.
Those left to cherish her memory include, a son and daughter-in-law David and Susan Ward of Texarkana, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Steve Ledwell of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren, Kelsey Crews and her husband Kory, Anna Ramage and her husband Micah, Marshall Ward and his wife Kashika, Lesley Dukelow and her husband Adam, Ben Ledwell, and Morgan Gaddis and her husband Ben; thirteen great grandchildren, Lila, Leighton, Louis, Hattie, Ellis, Jack, Cora, Vivianne, Adeline, Lilly, Evie, Ella, and Liv; one brother, Larry Morgan, one sister, Ann Gardner; along with several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 14, 2026 at Hillcrest Memorial Park followed by a Celebration of Life at First Methodist Church – Texas 5801 Summerhill Road Texarkana, Texas 75503.
