Jerry Gatison, a beloved individual peacefully passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Jerry, a recent resident of San Antonio, TX, was born on December 23, 1938, in Plain Dealing, LA, to the late Dolph and T.U. Sanders Gatison.

Jerry Gatison, a beloved individual peacefully passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Jerry, a recent resident of San Antonio, TX, was born on December 23, 1938, in Plain Dealing, LA, to the late Dolph and T.U. Sanders Gatison.
Jerry’s life was marked by a deep devotion to his faith, serving as a dedicated member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over five decades. He found immense joy and purpose in sharing his spiritual convictions with others, a testament to his unwavering faith in Jehovah God. Beyond his spiritual endeavors, Jerry embraced life with enthusiasm, indulging in various pastimes such as fishing, water skiing, golfing, and bowling.
He will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of remarkable kindness and profound love. Jerry possessed a special affinity for young people, cherishing the time spent with his own children/grandchildren and fostering a unique and strong bond with his many nieces and nephews. His warm spirit and generous nature left an indelible mark on countless lives.
Jerry was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Gloria V. Gatison, his parents, Dolph and T.U. Gatison, and his nine siblings: Lucindy Preston, Eugene Gatison, Booker Gatison, Lola Bell Dunkley, Dolph Gatison, Jr., Helen Fortune, Carolyn Dawson, Sammy Gatison, Sr., and Dorothy McNeal. He also mourned the loss of his grandson, Harvey L. Maxfield, Jr., and his son-in-law, Steven Stuart.
He is survived by his daughters, Geri E. Stuart and her children
Sabrina Maxfield and Brandon Maxfield (Andrea), and Teri A. S. Gatison (Jalen) and her children Christopher D. Strickland, Jr. and Aubriella Strickland. He also leaves behind his special sons, Anthony W. Odell Sr.(Adriene) and his children Anthony W. Odell, Jr. (Beth), Brandy Lomota (Calin), Ciara Troxler (Jonathan), and Indiyah Odell, and Eric S. Odell and his children Erica Odell, Austin Odell, and Lorraine Odell. Additionally, he is survived by his special daughter Carmen Sisney and special sons Harvey L. Maxfield, Sr., David Williams and special grandsons Kyler Starr and Joshua Casteel, and granddaughter Kennie Freeman. Jerry’s memory will also be cherished by his seven great-grandchildren and a wide circle of loving nieces, nephews, and friends and adopted family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1340 N. Kings Hwy Nash, TX 75569.
