Hospice of Texarkana’s 17th Annual Jeans & Bling Rock ‘N Roll Lights Up the Texarkana Convention Center
On Saturday, October 3, Hospice of Texarkana’s 17th Annual Jeans & Bling – Rock ’N Roll brought a packed house to the Texarkana Convention Center for a night of rock classics, show-stopping lip-sync performances and heartfelt community generosity in support of local hospice care.
“As the new CEO, this was my wife’s and my first year for this event, and we were not only amazed but deeply humbled by the amount of work that leads up to the event, the beauty and flow of the event itself, and the phenomenal donors and donations that came through to help ensure Hospice of Texarkana is supported as we enter our 42nd year of service to the community,” said Greg Wood, CEO of Hospice of Texarkana.
Guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner, silent and live auctions, raffles, and the evening’s most anticipated tradition, the Celebrity Lip Sync Contest. This year’s contestants brought plenty of energy to the stage:
- Kim and Jeff Grantz — “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley
- Robert Irwin’s Troupe — “Summer Nights” from the Grease soundtrack
- Suki O’Neal and Company — “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys

“It was a blast! Our team practiced for months and then celebrated when we finished. But the fact that we get to help out the mission that is Hospice of Texarkana is the best part,” said Dawn Parker, who participated in the Lip-Sync as one of Suki O’Neal’s Backstreet Babes.

The rock ’n’ roll theme carried through the night, ending on a high note as Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Tribute Show, featuring Texarkana native Chris LeGrand, took the stage at 9 p.m. and closed out the evening with classic Rolling Stones tunes.
Leigh Davis, Chief Development Officer of Hospice of Texarkana, noted the significance of the night. “It is our 17th annual Jeans & Bling, which raises money for all the compassionate care that we provide to terminally ill people in the Texarkana region.”

The event drew a great crowd, and the staff at the Texarkana Convention Center did a great job with the buffet-style dinner.
Funds raised through Jeans & Bling help Hospice of Texarkana provide compassionate care and support to approximately 500 patients and their families each year throughout Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas — at home, in nursing facilities and at the organization’s freestanding Inpatient Care Center, the only one of its kind within 75 miles.
