Arkansas High Boys Tennis Claims Back-to-Back 5A South Conference Championship

The Arkansas High School boys tennis team continued its impressive run of success by capturing the 2026 5A South Conference Championship at Lakeside High School. The victory marks back-to-back conference titles for the Razorbacks and their third championship in the past four seasons.

Senior Grayson Miller captured the singles conference championship with a dominant performance, completing an undefeated regular season with a 19-0 record. In doubles competition, Will McCoy and Luke Holze battled past a strong Benton team to claim the conference title with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 victory.

The Razorbacks finished with 16 team points, outpacing second-place Lakeside with nine points and Benton with four. “They played incredible,” Head Coach Mason McCloud said. “They’ve worked so hard and longed for that moment. Their performance in this tournament was one of focus and determination, and I am so proud of not only the three victors, but the entire team.”

Miller, McCoy and Holze will now advance to the 5A State Tournament as top seeds in their respective draws. All three are returning state qualifiers, with McCoy also earning doubles All-State honors last season. The tournament begins Monday, October 12, at Lakeside High School and Hot Springs Country Club.

The conference championship adds to an outstanding four-year stretch for Arkansas High tennis. Since 2023, the Razorbacks have won three conference championships, produced 13 All-Conference state qualifiers and compiled a 58-4 regular-season record.

McCloud credits seniors Miller and McCoy, along with their teammates, with helping establish a culture that extends beyond wins and championships. “The boys from these past four years are culture-setting kids,” McCloud said. “Their work ethic, passion and love for the game have paved the path of success for future generations. They are incredible young men who are successful in tennis and will be successful in life.”

The Texarkana Arkansas School District congratulates the Razorbacks on their conference championship and wishes Miller, McCoy and Holze continued success as they represent Arkansas High at the state tournament.
