Lt. Governor Dan Patrick Joins Community Leaders for Round Table at Texas A&M–Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick visited Texas A&M University-Texarkana on Tuesday for a roundtable discussion with community leaders, part of his 100-city bus tour across rural Texas.

The visit brought Patrick together with university officials and local leaders to discuss education, workforce development and economic growth in the Texarkana region.

“It was great to be back at Texas A&M Texarkana this morning on my 100-city rural bus tour across Texas,” Patrick said. “I met with university officials and local leaders to discuss how we can continue making Texarkana a great place to get an education, live, work, raise a family, and start a business.”

He praised the university for connecting education with workforce development and economic opportunity, saying A&M-Texarkana is “ensuring more young Texans can build their futures right here at home in Northeast Texas.”

A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander welcomed the lieutenant governor, calling the university “a powerful economic engine, developing the workforce, attracting investment, creating opportunities, and helping drive prosperity throughout the Texarkana region.”

“Today’s gathering reflects the strong partnerships among education, business, government, and community leaders that are so essential to building a brighter, more prosperous future for the communities we serve,” Alexander said.

Patrick launched his 100-city rural bus tour in late August to meet with constituents across Texas. First elected lieutenant governor in 2014, he was reelected in 2018 and 2022 and previously served eight years in the Texas Senate.
