Boil Water Notice Issued for Shadow Brooke Street Area in Texarkana
Texarkana Water Utilities issued a boil water notice Wednesday for customers at 6901-7312 Shadow Brooke St following a loss of water pressure.
TEXARKANA, Texas — Texarkana Water Utilities has issued a boil water notice for customers at 6901-7312 Shadow Brooke St after a loss of water pressure, the utility announced Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026.
Because of the loss of pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Texarkana, Texas (public water system ID 0190004) to notify all customers in the affected area to boil their water before consumption — including washing hands or face, brushing teeth, and drinking.
Children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all affected customers should follow the boil directions.
What to do: To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled before use for drinking water or human consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source for drinking water or human consumption.
Customers in the affected area will be notified when it is no longer necessary to boil the water. Once the notice is no longer in effect, the utility will issue a rescission notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Residents are asked to share this information with others who drink the water and may not have received the notice directly, including people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses, by posting it in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
