My name is Lynn McDowell, and I’m running for Miller County Judge because I care deeply about this county, the people who call it home, and the future we’re building together. Experience matters. Respect matters. And service matters.
Not long ago, my son encouraged me to sit down and reflect on how many hours of public service I’ve given over the years. I had never counted before, but when I did, I realized I’ve spent over 300,000 hours serving the citizens of Miller County. That number isn’t about recognition—it represents a lifetime of showing up, working hard, and serving others whenever and wherever I was needed.
For 35 years, Cooper Tire was my full-time place of employment, where I worked hard to support my family. While working full time at Cooper Tire, I also served the citizens of Miller County as a Justice of the Peace and a Reserve Deputy. After retiring from Cooper Tire, I continued my public service by serving as a School Resource Officer, and currently as Constable District 9, and Bailiff for the 8th District South. Each of these roles taught me something different, but all of them centered on people—listening to concerns, solving problems, and doing the job the right way.
It still humbles me when someone stops me in a store, smiles, and reminds me of something I did for them years ago—something I may have forgotten, but they never did. Moments like that remind me the impact I have made and hope to continue making.
I walk into every courthouse office, sheriff’s office, and meeting with respect for the people who work there and for the citizens who depend on them. As Justice of the Peace, I worked closely with the public and the Quorum Court to ensure decisions were made responsibly, fairly, and with accountability. I believe steady leadership, common sense, and transparency is essential to county government.
I was raised to work hard, be honest, and treat people with respect—and that’s how I’ve tried to live and serve throughout my life.
I would be honored to earn your vote on March 3rd,2026.
