Man arrested for allegedly breaking into Cotton Patch Liquor Store

Early in the morning on July 3, 2017 Miller County Deputies went to 17446 Highway 67, Fulton Arkansas, Cotton Patch Liquor, because of a burglary. Deputies determined someone had forced entry into the store. While reviewing video footage from the area two people were noticed wearing dark “hoodie” sweat shirts and shorts around the store at approximately 4:00 a.m. A white Chevrolet pickup also in video footage was located near the store stuck in the mud.

During the investigation, it was determined the pickup was stolen from Little Rock, Arkansas on June 30th. Deputies issued a “BOLO”, Be On the Look Out, for the two subjects. Shortly after 2:00 p.m a subject matching the description was located near the Hempstead/Miller County line. Arkansas State Police assisted Miller County Deputies in detaining the person. Donald Shirey, w/m, 49 years old, from Little Rock, Arkansas. He was identified as a suspect in the burglary.

Shirey was arrested for Burglary of a Commercial Building, a felony warrant from Oklahoma for Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, and a hold for a parole revocation from Arkansas Parole Board. Additional felony charges are pending further investigation.

Deputies continue to seek the identity of the second person in the video.
