A Texarkana, Texas Police officer shot a killed a dog after it attacked a child Tuesday evening.
According to Police, at 6:32 p.m. they received a call of a child who was being attacked by a dog at a residence in the 1600 block of W. 21st Street. When officers arrived, they found a pit bull dog with a one year old girl in its mouth. Officers shot twice and killed the dog.
The girl was immediately transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital where she is in critical condition. She is expected to be flown to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
The dog was a family pet and was chained in the yard when it attacked the child.
