Tickets Now Available For the Second Annual DrawDown for a Hand Up! Benefiting Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter

randysamsThe Second Annual DrawDown for a Hand Up! fundraiser will be held on September 25th at 6:00pm Thursday, September 25 at the Elks Lodge on 4701 Garland in Texarkana, AR. The proceeds will benefit the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter.

This event is an essential fundraiser for the Shelter. “This event, and our other fundraisers are crucial for long term financial stability. This year alone nights of shelter provided are up by 14% and 100 people have moved out of the Shelter into permanent housing.  The services we provide are vital and are only possible because of the support of our community through donations and fundraisers like this. The drawdown is a fabulous party and we look forward to having a great time while raising money for a great cause.” stated Jennifer Laurent, the Executive Director of the Shelter.

The magical Roger Shepphard will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event that will feature food by the incredible David James of Albert’s Meat Company, music by the fantastically talented band QuickSilver, an open bar and an amazing array of items for silent auction. You do not want to miss this event!

Tickets are available for a donation of $100 and include dinner for two, drinks, entertainment and a chance to win $5,000! Only 150 of these tickets are available, meaning you will have a 1 in 150 chance of winning the grand prize! Get your ticket before they are gone. Tickets are also available for $35 and include dinner for one, drinks and entertainment but no chance to win the grand prize. The Shelter makes a difference in so many lives. In the first eight months of 2014, 100 people have moved out of the Shelter into permanent housing. Multiple people have been able to get into long-term programs they were seeking. And today, a man was able to move into the assisted living facility he has desperately needed. In the first eight months of 2014 we provided 14% more shelter nights than we did during the same time frame in 2013, and 22% more than in 2010. The need is rising. The services provided by the Shelter are crucial. This fundraiser, and others like it, make it possible to provide a safe place to sleep for people who are without.
