TEXARKANA, Texas–A Redwater, Texas, man accused of possessing more than 200 images or videos involving the sexual exploitation of children is being held in the Bowie County jail with bail set at $200,000.
Shawn Corey Kellam, 49, came to the attention of Bowie County Sheriff’s Office investigators last month when they received five cybertips forwarded from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children connected to an internet protocol address in Redwater, according to a probable cause affidavit.
NCMEC received three tips in August and two in September regarding child sexual abuse material that allegedly led investigators to Kellam’s residence in Redwater.
The images in Kellam’s possession allegedly depicted prepubescent children in “lascivious exhibition” or engaged in sexual activity, the affidavit said. One of the 220 files allegedly showed children identified as toddlers or infants being subjected to sadistic conduct or bondage, the affidavit said.
Kellam was booked into the Bowie County jail Dec. 9.
If convicted of possession of child pornography, 50 or more images or video, Kellam faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
The case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell. Kellam is represented by the Bowie County Public Defender’s Office.
