Bowie County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man with 28 grams of methamphetamine in his pants early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Deputy Shawn Martin conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation on a 2001 Toyota Avalon in the 5100 Block of Mall Drive in Texarkana.

Upon speaking with the three occupants, Deputy Martin noticed that the rear passenger was exceptionally nervous. He was identified as Jonathan Lee Allen. All three occupants were searched but Allen exhibited an even higher level of concern. Allen was behaving in a manner that led Deputy Martin to believe he was concealing something inside of his clothing.

As Deputy Martin attempted to thoroughly check his clothing, Allen became combative. He was restrained and found to have concealed approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine in his pants.

Jonathan Lee Allen was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Over 4 grams and Under 200 grams. He was also charged with Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport. He has been booked into the Bi State Jail.
