A Fouke, Ark., man is being held in the Miller County jail on charges of rape and sexual assault involving a juvenile female relative.

Larry Zane Neff, 49, allegedly came to the attention of the Miller County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 28 after an adult relative of the alleged victim reported that the girl had written her a note accusing Neff of showing her pornography and of sexual misconduct. A forensic interview of the girl the following day at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Texarkana allegedly included descriptions of behavior by Neff that led to his arrest on a charge of rape and a charge of second-degree sexual assault, according to a search warrant affidavit.

Investigators executed a search warrant Nov. 1 on Neff’s home on Miller County Road 493. Investigators seized a long list of hard drives, cell phones, flash drives, computer discs, laptop computers, a camera and other digital media accessories. Neff had allegedly left his house before the search with a laptop computer and cell phone in his possession.

Neff was arrested Nov. 2. Bail was set at $100,000 at an intial court appearance Nov. 5.

Neff’s wife allegedly delivered a laptop and cell phone to Miller County investigators Nov. 5. Neff is scheduled to appear in court for a status hearing Nov. 20.
