Four Arrested in De Kalb Retaliation Shootings
DE KALB, Texas – The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four individuals in connection with a pair of shootings that occurred immediately following Christmas, incidents that investigators describe as a dangerous cycle of retaliation.

According to Chief Deputy Robby C. McCarver, the arrests stem from two separate but related incidents involving deadly conduct in the early morning hours of December 26, 2025.

The violence began at approximately 12:28 a.m. on December 26. Deputies responded to a call on U.S. Highway 259 South in De Kalb. A female victim reported that she was walking with her boyfriend when a vehicle drove by, and the driver fired several shots in their direction.

The victim identified the shooter as her ex-boyfriend. The suspect fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. No injuries were reported in this initial incident.

However, just three hours later, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the violence escalated. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Farm to Market Road 2789. A male resident reported that his home had been fired upon multiple times while he and his daughter were sleeping inside.

Investigators found that several projectiles had penetrated the home, striking items within the residence. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, this second shooting is believed to be an act of retaliation. Investigators suspect that the victim from the first call became the suspect in the second shooting.

Following an investigation led by Deputy David McAlexander and Investigators Johny Weaver and Ed Rawls, warrants were issued. As of December 31, 2025, four suspects are in custody.

All four individuals have been charged with Deadly Conduct. The suspects and their bond amounts are listed below:
