Hope police searching for sexual assault suspect

Hope, Ark. Police are searching for a suspect that unlawfully entered a residence early Wednesday morning and sexually assaulted a victim.

According to Hope Assistant Chief of Police Kimberly Tomlin, on Wednesday between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m., a Black Male further described as brown complexion, medium build, and possibly between twenty and thirty years of age with a fade haircut, unlawfully entered a residence on S. Johnson Street in Hope, AR.

The unknown subject sexually assaulted the victim.

Chief of Police JR Wilson stated, “Violent crimes such as this are most egregious to our community and despised by the very heart of God. There is no place in civil society for violent acts. Our heart brakes for the victim and their family. We will do everything within our power to identify, locate and arrest the person or persons responsible. To help us accomplish this, we need the public’s full support. Any information you may possess, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, could prove to be of great benefit in the successful resolution of this case. Suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of Johnson Street should be reported as well as suspicious behaviors, comments or actions of individuals that may lead you to believe the person may have knowledge regarding this crime. I am highly confident that someone has information that could be helpful to solving this case. Anonymous tips are accepted.
