Hot Springs sobriety checkpoint busts 29 people with help from TAPD

Arkansas State Police conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Highway 70 in Hot Springs, Ark. last weekend that resulted in 29 arrests, according to Arkansas911news.com. Texarkana, Ark. Police Department provided their mobile breath alcohol testing unit for use at the request of the Arkansas State Police.

According to Texarkana, Ark. Police Department Public Information Officer Kristi Bennett, TAPD has the only mobile breath alcohol testing unit in the state of Arkansas.

Bennett said that ASP asked to use the unit and TAPD was happy to help. Two officers went along with the RV to staff it.

According to Arkansas911news.com there were 11 DWI Arrest, 18 Criminal Arrests, 40 Speeding Tickets, 8 Other Hazardous Violations, 76 Non-Hazardous Violations, 2 Seat Belt Tickets, 16 Speed Warnings, 58 Seat Belt Warnings, and 14 Other Warnings.
