Interstate 30 chase ends with suspect shooting self

A police pursuit ended on Interstate 30 with the suspect shot Thursday morning.

According to authorities the suspect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The pursuit started around the 212 mile marker around 9:45 a.m. on Interstate 30 and ended with the suspect shot near the 204 mile marker. The suspect’s vehicle was stopped by spike strips.

The pursuit started when Nash police attempted to stop a vehicle on Interstate 30.

The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time. They were transported by LifeNet to Christus St. Michael Hospital.

The Texas Rangers are investigating.
