Man shot driving on I-30, suspect in custody

A man is in custody after allegedly shooting another driver on Interstate 30 Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened around the 200 mile marker while both cars were traveling eastbound 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The victim called 911 and followed the suspect until police pulled the vehicle over at the 214 mile marker near Leary. THe victim pulled into the Love’s Travel Stop in Leary and was transported by LifeNet with non-life threatening injuries.

Bowie County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Hooks Police Officer initiated a felony traffic stop on the suspect and safely placed him into custody. Two handguns and an open bottle of liquor were found in the car.

The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
