At approximately 5:45pm on Monday, July 24th, 2017, Metro PCS at 809 East St. was robbed by a black male armed with a black handgun. After gaining all the cash on hand at the business the black male, wearing a do-rag, white t-shirt, black shorts and Nike high top athletic shoes fled south from the business towards Prince St.

Officers and Detectives responded and began collecting evidence and investigating leads. Information was developed during these interviews that witnesses to the robbery identified Rolston Lockett, 26 years of age, as a suspect.

Later in the evening on 07/24/2017, Texarkana, Texas police were called to the Metro PCS business on Richmond Rd. where Rolston Lockett had involved himself in an altercation inside the Metro PCS business while trying to pay his cellular phone bill, which he indicated to officers he had tried to pay earlier at 809 East St. Rolston was wearing headgear and Nike shoes that matched those of the robbery suspect during this video recorded encounter with TTPD officers.

An arrest warrant was issued on 07/25/2017 for Aggravated Robbery and TAPD officers were able to learn that Rolston could be found at a motel on N. State Line Ave. Once there, Rolston answered the door and was taken into custody. A search warrant for evidence related to the robbery was obtained by TAPD detectives, who located what we believe to be the handgun, the headgear and the Nike shoes inside the motel room.

Detective Shane Kirkand and Detective Wayne Easley interviewed Rolston Lockett on Wednesday, 07/26/2017, at which time Rolston confessed to the detectives that he had robbed the Metro PCS location at 809 East St. on Monday.

Rolston is a convicted felon and warrants for illegally possessing a handgun are forthcoming.
