Texarkana, Texas Police arrested Jeremy Griffin on Saturday night after an elderly lady found him hiding beside the bed inside her bedroom.
Officers Ben Thomes and Daniel Linn were dispatched to the house in the 400 block of W. 29th and told that the lady had heard strange noises coming from her bedroom and was now holding man she found there at gunpoint. By the time that they got there, Griffin had managed to run out of the house and into the back yard. However, he was taken into custody after one of the officers deployed his JPX pepper gun as Griffin was trying to get over the eight foot privacy fence that went around the yard as he tried to get away from them.
It turns out that the residents knew Griffin and had let him live there some time back to get his life back on track – that is until he started having issues with drugs again. They kicked him out then and he has apparently tried several times to get into the house since then.
The scariest part was that they found one of the victims’ kitchen knives under the bed where he was hiding. The police don’t know what his intentions were for having the knife, but know that he certainly did not belong in the house for any reason.
Griffin was charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Evading Arrest. He also had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous misdemeanor charge. He is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail, where a judge set his total bond at $21,500 this morning.
