Police investigating deadly shooting on Lumpkin St.

Texarkana, Texas Police were dispatched at 6:33 PM to a residence in the 400 block of Lumpkin St. Once on scene, officers located a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to police the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, however he died as a result of his injuries. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The initial investigation concluded the 33-year-old victim was visiting friends at 405 Lumpkin St. While the victim was on the front porch, a black male suspect pulled up in front of the house in a light blue Chevrolet minivan with Texas Tags. The suspect exited the vehicle and began firing multiple shots with a handgun at the home, striking the victim once in the head. The suspect then fled the scene in the minivan.

Detectives are currently investigating the case and examining evidence.
