Texarkana, Ark. Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the 3000 block of Jefferson Avenue.
The shooting happened around 8:20 a.m. Saturday morning. According to police a 78-year-old Richard Mullens allegedly shot his 42-year-old son Mark Mullens during an altercation.
According to Lt. Ed Chattaway, the younger Mullens has threatened to kill the father.
Chattaway said , “the Father exited house to go to his truck to leave for work when the younger Mullens came out of the house approaching him threatening to kill him again. Father, in fear that his son will follow through with the threats, reached in his truck, grabbed his pistol and shot the son one time.”
No arrest are being made at this time. Case will be put together and forwarded to prosecuting attorney for review and their determination if any charges will be filed.
