Police are currently investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred at Bringle Lake Village dorms at Texas A&M.
Texarkana, Texas Criminal Investigation Division is assisting the Texas A&M University Police Department in the investigation.
Students were notified of the sexual assault Tuesday. The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities across the United States to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. A requirement of this law is a timely notification to the campus community of certain crimes in a manner that will aid in the prevention of similar crimes.
According to the notice There are no further threats to the campus community in regards to this reported crime.
