Texarkana Police Arrest Three Men and Seize Narcotics

The Texarkana Texas Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested three men and seized several narcotics while serving a search warrant in the 3000 block of College Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers arrested Jonathan Matlock (21), Christopher Hurd (21), and Sonya Hopkins (18) after discovering MDMA (which is commonly known as ecstasy), Xanax, and over three pounds of marijuana inside the residence. All three men are Texarkana, Texas residents. Officers also found a .45 caliber pistol and digital scales which are commonly associated with drug trafficking.

Matlock, Hurd, and Hopkins were all charged with Possession of Marijuana and two counts of Possession of Controlled Substances. Hurd was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, three traffic warrants, and a probation violation warrant.

Following their arrest, the men were transported to the Bi-State Jail. Bonds for Hopkins and Matlock have been set at $43,000 each. Hurd’s bond is $53,928. All remain in custody at this time.
