TEXARKANA, TEXAS – The Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested Britt Dalton, 17, Alyssa Shew, 20, and Joevon Williams, 22, for vehicle burglary early Wednesday morning. Dalton was also charged with Evading Detention with a Vehicle.

At approximately 3:00 am. Wednesday morning, Officer Jarrod Dean noticed a small silver vehicle driving through a hotel parking lot in the 3900 block of St. Michael Drive without its headlights on. He also saw a man looking into the window of a parked vehicle and trying the door handle before then getting into the back seat of the silver vehicle. Dean followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 4300 block of St. Michael Drive. After the vehicle stopped briefly, it fled through a parking lot and turned north onto Pavilion Parkway with Dean in pursuit. The driver failed to negotiate the roundabout at Gibson Lane and struck the curb, causing the vehicle to crash into the field north of the intersection. The driver immediately exited the vehicle and ran toward McKnight Road. Shew and Williams remained in the vehicle and were arrested by Dean without incident. Minutes later, Officer Austin Butts located Dalton hiding inside a trash can at an assisted living center in the 4300 block of McKnight Road and arrested him.

Officers found a backpack containing a drone in Dalton’s vehicle that they were able to determine had been stolen from the back seat of a vehicle at the hotel. The owner was located and the property returned.

All three subjects are being held in the Bi-State Jail for Vehicle Burglary with a $5,000 bond each. Dalton has an additional $15,000 bond for Evading Detention with a Vehicle.
