Body identified as missing Texarkana man

A Body discovered near downtown Texarkana has been identified as missing Texarkana man Anthony Carmeli, according to Texarkana Texas Police.

The body was discovered around 8 a.m. Monday morning where W. 3rd St. crosses Swampoodle Creek by 2 men walking.

According to police identification was made by documents found on the body.

Anthony Carmeli, 42, was last seen at his children’s soccer practice field in Texarkana, TX in early September. After asking another parent there to watch his children while he took care of something, Carmeli left on foot in an unknown direction.

This cause of death is not known at this time according to police. The body is being sent to Dallas for an autopsy.

Police continue to investigate.
