TAPD, Miller County OEM to Launch Two-Day Search for Two Missing Louisiana Men

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will conduct coordinated search operations June 3 and 4 for two missing men, Jonathan Bohrer and Johnny Hamilton, the department announced.

Both men are from Louisiana. TAPD said there is currently no evidence linking the two cases.

The TAPD Criminal Investigation Division, the Morgan Nick Foundation, the Miller County Office of Emergency Management and numerous trained volunteers will take part in the large-scale effort. The department said the operation is intended to expand search coverage, follow up on investigative leads and bring both men home safely.

The Morgan Nick Foundation will use search dogs during the operation. TAPD is asking residents in the search areas to keep their own dogs secured to avoid interfering with the search dogs and officers in the field.

The Morgan Nick Foundation is an Arkansas-based nonprofit that supports the families of missing children and adults across the state. It was founded in 1996 by Colleen Nick, whose six-year-old daughter Morgan was abducted in 1995 while playing with friends at a little league game in Alma, Arkansas, and remains missing today. The foundation maintains a missing persons database, works closely with law enforcement agencies, and helps organize and staff searches with trained search and rescue workers. Its mission centers on intervention, education, and prevention to protect children and aid families through the search for a missing loved one.

Search teams will work across designated areas throughout both days, including the locations where vehicles belonging to Hamilton and Bohrer were found, with search zones extending outward as needed. TAPD asked the community to be aware of increased activity in those areas and to report any information that could help investigators through the department’s reporting channels.

Roberts Street and the entrance to Poindexter Park will be closed for the duration of the search to protect search teams and the public. Barricades will be placed at both park entrances to keep people out of the area.

TAPD said the participating volunteers are highly trained and that the department is not requesting additional volunteers from the public at this time.

The department thanked its partner agencies and the volunteers contributing their time and resources to the effort.
