TEXARKANA, Ark. – A 22-year-old Texarkana resident lost his life late Friday afternoon following a motorcycle accident on Interstate 49 in Miller County.
According to a preliminary report released by the Arkansas State Police (ASP), the crash occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026.
The victim has been identified as Samuel Gutierrez, 22, of Texarkana.
Investigators say Gutierrez was traveling southbound on I-49 near the 35-mile marker on a 2004 Yamaha. The report states that the motorcycle “lost control and collided with a cable barrier.”
Gutierrez was the only person involved in the accident. No other injuries were reported.
At the time of the crash, authorities noted that weather conditions were clear and the road conditions were dry.
The body was released to the Miller County Coroner. The Arkansas State Police confirmed that the next of kin has been notified.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. Josh Broughton of the Arkansas State Police.
