13-year-old killed in early morning hit-and-run accident on I-30

Titus County- The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for assistance from the public on a fatal hit and run crash that occurred at approximately 4:34 a.m. July 20 on Interstate 30.

The crash occurred on IH-30 near the Titus/Morris County Line at mile marker 173 in the eastbound lanes. A 13-year-old boy was riding his bicycle east on IH-30 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Investigators believe the vehicle in question will have damage to the hood, windshield and right front quarter panel or any similar combination.

The department is asking anyone that may have witnessed the bicyclist or anyone with information on the crash to contact (903) 572-3616.

The department is also asking area collision repair facilities to be watchful and call if a vehicle with damage described above is presented for repair.
