2nd Annual Boggy Creek Festival 2014 is Today and Tomorrow

The Boggy Creek Festival is an annual community event held in Fouke, Arkansas. The purpose of the event is to bring together the local community and to share information about the sasquatch-like creature that has been sighted in the area for over a century. The festival features local arts and crafts, music, entertainment, food vendors, and presentations by some of the top bigfoot researchers in the field.

The 2nd Annual Boggy Creek Festival will be Oct 24-25, 2014. Camping at the Miller County Fairgrounds will be open starting Friday Oct 24, while the main event will happen Sat Oct 25 along Fouke’s main strip just off Highway 71 and Main Street. (Just come to Fouke and you can’t miss it!)

CAMPING
The Miller County Fairgrounds, located at East Red Cut Road just off Highway 71 in Fouke, is available for tent camping. The fee is $10 per night. (No reservations necessary.)

HOTEL

If you’re coming from out of town and prefer to stay in a hotel, you would need to stay in Texarkana. (Fouke does not have any motel/hotel accommodations.) The official hotel of the festival is:

BOGGY CREEK BUS TOURS
Bus tours will be available for purchase at the festival. The tours, guided by Beast of Boggy Creek author Lyle Blackburn, will visit historical sites in the Fouke area which pertain to The Legend of Boggy Creek movie and sightings of the Fouke Monster. The tour includes a stop at the infamous Boggy Creek, where participants can take photos near the waterway. Tours are $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 10. This is first come first serve since seating is limited, so buy your ticket at the festival early!

BIGFOOT SPEAKERS
Regional bigfoot researchers, authors, and television personalities will be doing presentations in the Community Center (East Red Cut Road). Speakers will include Lyle Blackburn, Ken Gerhard, Marvin Leeper, Larry Parks and Jim Whitehead, Robert Swain, and Craig Woolheater. There is a single $10 fee to attend all speaker presentations.

Lyle Blackburn – The Continuing Story of the Fouke Monster (1:00 – 1:40)
Lyle is a dedicated bigfoot researcher, cryptozoological and author of the best-selling books The Beast of Boggy Creek and Lizard Man. He has been heard on numerous radio programs including Coast To Coast AM, and has appeared on television shows such as Finding Bigfoot (Animal Planet), Monsters and Mysteries in America (Destination America), Monsters and Mysteries: The Blackburn Files (Destination America), Shipping Wars (A&E), Home Strange Home (HGTV), and the CBS Sunday Morning Show (CBS).

Larry Parks & Jim Whitehead – Bigfoot Research Methods (1:50 – 2:30)
Larry and Jim are dedicated bigfoot researchers and members of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center. Between them, they have decades of field research experience.

Robert Swain – Laughsquatch (2:40 – 3:20)
Robert Swain is a pastor, bigfoot researcher, artist and cartoonist. He is the artist behind the bigfoot-themed cartoon book, Laughsquatch, and the children’s tale, Patty: A Bigfoot Story, and has been featured at bigfoot conferences throughout the Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas area.

Marvin Leeper – Oklahoma’s Boggy Creek (3:30 – 4:10)
Marvin is a Language and Fine Arts professor at Murray State College in Oklahoma, and a member of the North American Wood Ape Conservancy. His interest in bigfoot has fueled years of research into both the modern sightings and early Native American history regarding these creatures.

Ken Gerhard – Arkansas Cryptids (4:20 – 5:00)
Ken is one of the world’s most recognized cryptozoologists and the author of the popular books Big Bird: Modern Sightings of Flying Monsters, Monsters of Texas (with Nick Redfern), and Encounters with Flying Humanoids. He as appeared on numerous television shows including MonsterQuest (History), The Real Wolfman (History), Paranatural (National Geographic), Legend Hunters (Travel Channel), Weird or What? with William Shatner (Syfy), Ultimate Encounters (Tru TV), Unexplained Files (Science Channel), Monsters and Mysteries in America (Destination America), Monster Project (Nat Geo Wild), and Shipping Wars (A&E).

Craig Woolheater – Bigfoot in Texas? (5:10 – 5:50)
Craig is a long-time bigfoot researcher and cofounder of the leading cryptozoology website, Cryptomundo. Craig is also the founder of the Texas Bigfoot Research Center and has appeared on numerous television shows including Mysterious Encounters (OLN), Southern Fried Bigfoot (Destination America), Weird Travels: Bigfoot (Travel Channel), MonsterQuest (History), and Monsters and Mysteries in America (Destination America).
