36-year-old Texarkana man killed in motorcycle accident

The motorcycle operator killed in the collision at Texas Boulevard and West 40th Street on December 3, 2015 has been identified as Carlos Henderson, 36, of Texarkana, Arkansas.

According to police the investigators have determined that Henderson was traveling southbound in the outside lane of Texas Boulevard at a high rate of speed on a 2006 Honda motorcycle. He failed to stop at the red light at the intersection of West 40th Street and struck the right side of a 1998 Ford Expedition, driven by Billy Crutchfield of Texarkana, Texas, as it was making a left turn. According to several witnesses, Crutchfield had a protected green arrow turn light.

Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Crutchfield was not injured.

It is unknown if the Henderson was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The investigation is on-going and will remain open until the toxicology test results for both involved parties are known.
