Two shelters have been opened in Texarkana, Texas for individuals who may need warmth from the elements or a place to stay until electricity is restored. The American Red Cross has opened a shelter at the First United Methodist Church at 4th and State Line, and Church on the Rock at 1601 Mall Drive has also opened their doors as temporary shelter.
It is estimated that 7,000 customers in the area are without electricity and power companies have indicated it may not be restored until tomorrow.
