8.5 foot alligator killed crossing I-49 Monday morning

An alligator was killed Monday morning attempting to cross Interstate 49 near the Interstate 30 exit.

Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department Corporal Les Munn and Corporal Douglas were dispatched to a report of an alligator on I-49 6:40 Monday morning.
According to Corporal Munn it appeared the alligator had been run over just prior to his arrival. “We removed the gator from the roadway and contacted Game and Fish.”

Munn assisted Warden Cowart loading the 8.5 foot deceased reptile.
