The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office has been informed that workers for the 2020 census will be actively working in Bowie County from now through July 31, 2020.

Currently, census workers will be out verifying addresses only. This means you may see people driving around in the area where you live who are not normally there. Around April 1, 2020 the census workers will be out contacting residents who have not responded to their survey. Census workers should have a valid work identification card to verify who they are.

For further information about the 2020 census you can visit their website at https://www.census.gov/.

The Census Bureau is also looking for workers to help with the 2020 census. If you are interested, you can apply online at https://2020census.gov/en/jobs.
