Hot Tails Crawfish opened for business today a few miles north of town on Highway 71 at Du-Jack’s liquor store.

This crawfish are available at least a month earlier than past years.

According to owner Danny Womack the low price of rice has farmers switching their fields to crawfish earlier in the season. Womack says he has over 1200 pounds of crawfish on hand for the next day or so. He also said the cold weather may make them hard to find after this batch is gone.

Hot Tails also has shrimp, boudin, corn, potatoes, sausage, and mushrooms.
