Fat Jack’s Accused of Illegal Broadcast of Boxing Match

A popular area bar is being sued for broadcasting a boxing match without having permission.

G & G Closed Circuit Events, LLC is suing Jack Mills owner of Fat Jacks along with Fat Jacks Oyster Bar for showing Abner Mares v. Anselmo Moreno WBC Super Bantamweight Championship Fight on November 10, 2012.

G&C filed suit in Western District of Arkansas Federal Court seeking $170,000 for statutory damages, and an unspecified amount for exemplary and punitive damages. G&C is also asking for all reasonable attorneys’ fees and any other associated costs.
G&C alleges in the suit that the, “Defendant were willful, malicious, egregious, and intentionally designed to harm Plaintiff.” “Defendant subjected the Plaintiff to severe economic distress and great financial loss,” G&C alleges.

G&C alleges violations of U.S. federal code that prohibits intercepting or receiving any communications service offered over a cable system.
