The First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch celebrated #GivingTuesday today by donating $25,000 to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation to establish the First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a certificate or degree at U of A Hope-Texarkana. “The generosity of the First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch will impact student success at UAHT for decades. They are the symbol of a community bank that is completely committed to supporting their community in every way,” said Chris Thomason, UAHT Chancellor.

Joan Hardee, President of the Hope branch, said she is overjoyed to be able to support the Hope community through the establishment of this scholarship. “This scholarship will help improve the lives of an untold number of students, and those students, in turn, will help make our community a better place to live and work. The First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch is thrilled to be able to give back in this manner,” she said.

“The First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch is honored to have the opportunity to partner with the U of A Hope-Texarkana Foundation in the establishment of the First National Bank of Tom Bean-Hope Branch Endowed Scholarship. The First National Bank of Tom Bean was established in 1906 as a small community bank with the sole purpose of meeting the needs of its local community. We strive daily to continue that heritage of being a good corporate citizen by giving back to our local communities. Our success is dependent upon people like our fantastic staff and our wonderful customers, and what better way to serve our local communities in the Hope area than investing in the education of our youth. We thank each one of you who have welcomed and supported us over these last two and a half years, and we look forward to many more bright years to come,” said Ronnie Bridges, Corporate CEO.
