Located in historical downtown Texarkana, Arkansas sits Verona Restaurant at 212 E. Broad Street. This not-so-secret local Italian restaurant offers a variety of wines and Italian cuisine with an atmosphere and service unlike any other fine dining establishments in the area.

Pristine yet inviting, Verona’s rooms are streamlined with paintings from local artists that survey the formally dressed tables. Patrons are called by their names as they enter the dining room and servers can be found tending to the finest of details-a tablecloth that needs to be centered or a glass that needs shining.

If you haven’t experienced the sensational taste that is traditional Italian with a cajun twist, have Chef Angel prepare one of her original creations. She pours her heart and soul into all of her dishes, each with their own significant trait that makes the item unforgettable.

The menu for the evening gave a full course tour of the many items offered:

The Mozzarella e Pomodoro is the perfect salad to begin with. The thick and hearty texture of the cheese layered over the tomato slices gives the illusion of the salad being more filling than it actually is. This is a simple yet dynamic way to transition into the heavier, more savory items.

While duck can be intimidating for many, Verona strategically infuses subtle southern tastes, leaving the impression of a pork loin, with juices flowing as the knife sliced through the tender meat. Even the picky eaters will come running to the scent of Duck Risotto.

Guaranteed, the Gamberoni Florentina has some of the largest, freshest shrimp in the Texarkana area. The sauces from the sauteed spinach swirl around in a the sea of shrimp, further accentuating the already robust taste of the dish.
Dessert should never be missed at Verona Restaurant. In fact, some would say it is imperative to order one of their many sweets. The Tiramisu is on the more traditional side of italian cuisine-with impossibly airy cake and a punch of cocoa.

The Cappuccino Semifreddo is the perfect dessert for the summer. The homemade cream melts instantly as it hits the tongue. The cool, thick texture of the cream is contrasted by the cookie crumble crust. A must have for anyone who dines at this establishment.

Verona Restaurant is a place where you can truly treat yourself , an establishment of indulgences. From the decadent wines and desserts, to the ever-so savory main dishes, your taste buds will find something unforgettable.
